Lonely Mouth UK is a Japanese soul-food restaurant based in Bristol, UK.

The goal for the menu and poster is to create a visual representation of:

• The owner’s mixed heritage being Half Jamaican/Half English — while giving a nod to blackness as well as celebrating the food’s Asian roots

• A combination of the owner’s identity as an individual while celebrating Japanese food which she fell in love with

• “Lonely Mouth” derived from the Japanese phrase “口寂しい / Kuchi-samishii” into its visual form
